First and last to meet in round 10 of WFNL
Back before round one of the Wimmera Football Netball League, when Ararat were preparing to line up against the Demons, there was no telling that these sides would occupy first and last spots on the ladder midway through the season.
But that is exactly how it has unfolded.
With contrasting seasons, Ararat hasn't experienced a loss, while their opposition this Saturday hasn't tasted a win.
Ararat's win over the Horsham side on April 12 was their biggest this season: 148 points – 32.12 (204) to 8.8 (56).
It has also been the Demons' biggest loss this year.
On the other end of the spectrum, they've lost to the Saints, Thunder and Warrack all by under 10 points.
But despite having some close encounters during the season, the Demons just haven't been able to get the win.
Benjamin Janetzki has been in brilliant form for the Demons this season, as has Jasper Gunn.
The ladder leaders have been led by the likes of Cody Lindsay and Jake Robinson but their depth is extensive, which has made them the side to beat this season.
Despite being at home, the Demons will be up against it this Saturday, but it's a chance for the side to show their improvement against a side that been the best from the get-go.
