The last round of the home and away games for the Dimboola & District Tennis Association were held on Saturday with some highly contested matches as Warrack remains on top of the ladder.
Round 14 started on Friday night with Arkona being hosts to Jeparit. The Mixed was a draw with both teams on 2 sets, 25 games. The Jeparit Men were strong winning 4 sets, 35 games to Arkona 2 sets, 31 games. The Arkona Women dominated the court, winning 5 sets, 38 games to Jeparit 1 set, 25 games. The overall score was Arkona with 3.5 match points, 9 sets, 94 games to Jeparit 1.5 match points, 7 sets, 85 games.
On Saturday, Hopetoun were host to Dimboola. Hopetoun Mixed won with 3 sets, 21 games to Dimboola 1 set, 13 games. The Hopetoun Men won 4 sets, 39 games to Dimboola 2 sets, 30 games. The Hopetoun Women were stronger with 5 sets, 41 games to Dimboola 1 set, 20 games. The overall score was Hopetoun with 5 match points, 12 sets, 101 games to Dimboola 0 match points, 4 sets, 63 games.
Next, Antwerp were host to Brim. The Antwerp Mixed won 2 sets, 26 games to Brim 2 sets, 23 games. The Antwerp Men were too strong and won with 6 sets, 42 games to Brim 0 sets, 13 games. The Brim Women played a very strong match winning theirs 5 sets, 37 games to Antwerp 1 set, 22 games. The overall score was Antwerp with 4 match points, 9 sets, 90 games to Brim 1 match point, 7 sets, 73 games.
Warrack were host to Rainbow and unfortunately due to the rain, they were washed out.
The first and second semi-finals will be held this Saturday. The first semi will be between Warrack and Brim. The second semi will be between Antwerp and Rainbow. The venues are still to be confirmed.
With no competition to be played over the Labour Day long weekend, the Grand Final will be held on Saturday 18th March 2023. Details regarding the Grand Final will be advised following the results of the semis.
