Farmers raise alarm over environment laws

NEW federal environmental laws have sparked concern among Victorian farmers, while the Federal Government said the changes are necessary to better protect Australia’s environment and biodiversity. Changes to the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act came into effect last year, with the National Environment Protection Agency beginning enforcement on July 1.
