Family festival fun
It's all about family fun at this year's Kannamaroo Festival, to be held from tonight through until Sunday.
And the best part is, entry is free for both Saturday and Sunday, allowing attendees to come and go as they please, enjoying a great day - or two - out.
The festival kicks off with 'The Push'- an event for youth tonight, before the family fun gets underway across the next couple of days.
Entertainment will be spread across different locations tomorrow from 8am - including Sawyer Park, Horsham Showgrounds and Maydale Pavillion and will include a Park Run, amusements and carnival rides, bingo and dancing/music with 'the Filos'. The day will end with a bang with fireworks at 9.30pm.
Activities on Sunday begin at 9am and finish at 2pm and will be held at Maydale Reserve and Horsham Showgrounds.
Attractions include carnival rides, a bubble zone, face painting, historical vehicles, market and magician among many others.
And at 2pm there will be a Santa visit.
Attendees are asked to bring their own chairs on both Saturday and Sunday.
An addition to the attractions this year, is the new sensory zone - a place for those who enjoy a quieter space with activities.
With sensory spaces becoming increasingly popular in community spaces, at home and at school, festival organisers recognised some adults and children need sensory strategies to regulate.
Beyond Community Inclusion is creating a sensory space in the poultry shed and it will feature dress ups and other activities and games.
An occupational Therapist will be available to chat regarding sensory processing and the importance of recognising sensory processing disorder.
