Entertainment all around at book launch
A beautiful coloured book, 'The Forbidden Forest' which written by business owner Shane Harman was officially launched last Friday, December 6, with around 50 to 60 people attending, to hear all about the wonders of The Forbidden Forest.
Prior to the book launch, Mr Harman visited primary schools in Dimboola to compile a crowd, teasing them on what would be on offer, especially when it came to special guest Biggs Blandthorne.
"I went and told them about this guy who was a mystery to them," he said.
"I built it up perfectly."
Decked out in full costume and an accent, Biggs Blandthorne came out and entertained the children as he read the book.
"It turned out really well," Mr Harman said.
A voice over was played leaving attendees hearing two voices before Biggs Blandthorne read the book.
"They had no idea it was me," he said.
"Halfway through the reading, they kept saying "we want Shane back", so I had to improvise a little."
Mr Harman said he ended up coming back out as himself and sat on the floor with the children to finish the reading.
"It was definitely something different and unexpected," he said.
He said around 20 books were sold at the launch.
"People are still stopping me in the streets-so it hit right," Mr Harman said.
Copies of the book will only be sold in-store at The Forbidden Forest for $30.
"It's unique to the shop," he said.
