Driver reviver remains lively
Heavy weekend traffic on the Western Highway on the western side of Horsham was treated to a pit stop at the Lions Club Driver Reviver site at the Lochiel Rest Area along the way.
Volunteers Jenny and Pam were busy at the site on March 7 and said they had a continual flow of travellers calling in for a rest, to stretch their legs, and refresh with a tea or coffee and a biscuit before continuing on their journey.
They also had a supply of Lions Christmas cakes and puddings, for anyone who felt like stretching their Christmas celebrations a little further, or just enjoyed the Lions' treats.
Driver Reviver has been helping keep Australian roads safer since 1989.
Powered by a dedicated network of volunteers from community groups and service organisations, our program offers vital roadside stops to promote road safety and reduce the road toll.
The Drive Reviver mission is simple: to provide local communities with an opportunity to actively contribute to reducing fatigue-related road trauma.
At each Driver Reviver site, travellers can take a much-needed break with a free cup of Bushells coffee or tea, an Arnott’s biscuit, and most importantly, a chance to rest and recharge, ensuring drivers stay alert and reach their destination safely.
The Driver Reviver program is supported by AAMI, Victoria State Emergency Service, FedEx, The Arnott’s Group Foundation, Bushells Coffee, Bushells Tea, Sunshine Sugar, and a team of valued volunteers.
