Draw shots and forehand smashes: tennis, lawn bowls action across Horsham

There was plenty of sporting action to see Horsham on Saturday, October 19, whetting the appetite of any sports lover.
While cricket action took place as Dimboola Road oval and Dudley Cornell Park, several grades of tennis and lawn bowls were scattered across the city.
In round three of the Wimmera Playing Area division one bowls weekend competition, Goroke/Edenhope 1 (58) was defeated by Horsham City 1 (81); Horsham Golf 1 (64) was defeated by Coughlin Park 1 (76); and Nhill 1 (86) defeated Sunnyside 1 (62).
The results from Kaniva 1 and Dimboola 1 are pending.
In the Central Wimmera Tennis Association's third round of the 2024 season, Horsham Lawn was able to play at home, despite the heavy rain from the night before.
Unfortunately, the side was unable to overcome Central Park, going down 5-9 (79-91).
Meanwhile, Drung South defeated St Michael 8-6 (79-67).
