The annual Handicap Doubles Championships started at the Croquet Club on Tuesday, June 13, but the play got suspended after two rounds due to rain.
Hopefully, the better weather this week has enabled players to complete the event.
Malcolm Jones and Bob Gooding made the best start to the event, defeating Charles Rees and Ricky Charlesworth seven to three, before defeating John Moar and Cathy Charlesworth seven to five.
They are, so far, the only pair to win two games.
Judy Baker and Christine Hiscock won a close game against Jan Post and Kelly Walker seven to six, but they were defeated by Charles Rees and Ricky Charlesworth seven to five.
With three more rounds to play, it is statistically possible for any pair to win, so everyone will need to maintain their form.
