Organiser Ellen blew bubbles for the children as they romped in the sea of toys spread across the floor of the Old Shire Hall at the Teddy Bear Picnic last Wednesday.
The picnic, hosted by the Hindmarsh Shire Council, was also held at the three other libraries across the shire in celebration of National Families Week.
A significant number of children, accompanied by adults, attended the event to partake in the activities.
Jenelle Campbell took her granddaughter, Aurora, who quickly became engrossed in the hand puppets, while another little girl scrambled upside down in a bucket for biscuits at the bottom.
"They really seem to be enjoying it," one mother said.
Adding to the excitement, a special adventure awaited the children: a bear hunt.
It involved walking through the town armed with a map to discover the secret nooks where teddy bears had been hidden.
