Dimboola set up positive win-loss ratio
Dimboola's A grade netballers swung the season's statistics in their favour with a victory against Southern Mallee on Saturday.
The Ant Toet-led side now has a couple of wins, a draw and a loss this season.
Five rounds in, they sit behind ladder leaders Horsham Saints and the Demons.
Dimboola led from the get-go on Saturday, with an 11-goal lead after the first quarter.
They added another 14 goals to their score in the second, while the visitors to Dimboola Recreation Reserve could add only six.
Keeping the momentum in the quarter after the big break, the Roos added another 10 goals, while the Thunder added six as they went into the last quarter down by 23 goals.
With consistency key, the Roos added another 11 goals in the final term to finish with 47, while the Thunder had their best quarter of the day, banking 10 goals to elevate their score to 23.
Toet described the game on Saturday as a good win, with everyone getting court time and different combinations trialled.
"Connie (Rule) and Syd's (Thorogood) reach made our girls think about their feeds and placement into the ring as well as our rebounding positions," she said.
"At the other end, Steph (Glover) and Didge (Bridget Dorrington) shut down Thunder's goalies very well in the first half before we swung Eloise (Wills) into defence also.
"I was very pleased, given the conditions and to get the girls back on track after their narrow loss the week prior."
For Dimboola, according the PlayHQ, Wills in defence (goal keeper in the last half, but wing defence earlier on) was brilliant all game, while Olivia Beugelaar was best on court, contributing 25 goals across goal attack and goal shooter.
For the Thunder, captain Rule was solid as goal keeper, and the consistency of Thorogood was again impressive.
On Saturday Dimboola will play Nhill, who are currently eighth on the ladder with just one win, a couple of losses and a draw.
