Dimboola's 139th Show
The Dimboola Show is on again this Saturday, October 19 2024, and Dimboola A&P Society president Harvey McKinnon has a message to share with the community.

Firstly, I would like that thank Andrea Cross, Fiona Tracey, Shirley King and WASA Wimmera Region for their help and support. Also, the Dimboola Memorial Secondary College.
This year we were lucky enough to gain funding to refurnish the old Stallion horse shed. Thanks to Karen and Jan for submitting the grant.
To all the workers that helped, thank you for your time and expertise.
Over the year we have had birthdays, weddings, a Naidoc week event, Christmas in July, all celebrated down at the Pavilion and open shed.
The concreting of the open building has proven a benefit to the community.
Our secretary for the last 12 years, Jan John, resigned at the Annual Meeting at the start of the year.
We thank Jan for her time and support over the years.
Which leads me to ask the general public, if there is anybody interested in becoming Secretary or joining the committee, you would be most welcome.
Our major attraction this year is Fizzics Education.
Kids love science experiments, from awesome liquid demonstrations to hands-on activities that kids of all ages will enjoy, so our show should be a blast.
Monica Revell, our own CEO of the Hindmarsh Shire, will be opening the show.
Other attractions: Tiny Goats, Animal Nursery, Whip Cracking, Horses, Side Show Alley, Ladies Pavilion Exhibits, Face Painting, Local SES and Fire Brigade just to mention a few.
Luncheon will be provided in the open shed starting at 11:45. Lutheran Primary School afternoon tea, and the Dimboola Progress Association will provide tea.
Each year we thank our sponsors - Peter Eldridge and his helpers have worked hard in gaining such good sponsorship.
Some of our sponsors will be on display on Show Day, so make them welcome. Others are highlighted in the schedule and also on banners around the grounds.
Karen Unger has also a lot of sponsors who help with the Horse sections.
To the individual sponsors, your continued support each year allows the show to be successful.
This year we have the schedule on Facebook - Dimboola Show.
This may allow you to browse at your leisure.
You can use the entry form at the back of the schedule.
We will still be taking entries on October 18, prior to the show, at the Old Shire Hall. A sign will be displayed near the door. The Schedule and Membership will also be available.
Last year we reinstated the crop competition, if anyone is interested you can enter on show day (hope some rain will come to finish the crops off).
Thank you to all the committee and people that have helped through the year.
To all people in the community, come along, look around, join in and be part of the day.
The show is in its 139th Annual, so let’s have a grand day and move into 140th next year.
