Dimboola Roos show strong spirits

The Dimboola Roos are celebrating two young players who have won awards for their gamesmanship and positive attitudes from the Blue Ribbon Foundation.
Katie Griffiths, who plays in the 17 and Under netball team, was awarded the Wimmera Football Netball League Blue Ribbon Foundation Spirit of Netball award in round two of the 2023 season.
Griffiths has been an extremely valued member of the Dimboola Football Netball Club since she began playing Net Set Go over six years ago.
She represents the club in a number of roles and is a leader in the 17 and Unders team, a tenacious defender on court and always demonstrates a “can-do” and “team-first” attitude.
This year, Griffiths has put her hand up to co-coach the 13 and Under team and is a positive role model to the girls both on and off the court.
DFNC believes that Griffiths is a worthy recipient of the Blue Ribbon award, and looks forward to seeing her in action at the club for many years to come.
Brodie Foster, who plays in the Under 17 football team, was awarded the Wimmera Football Netball League Blue Ribbon Foundation Spirit of Football award in round six of the 2023 season.
The Spirit of Football award recognises young players for displaying sportsmanship, fair play and mutual respect, and this young man has displayed great desire to improve his game and develop as a young adult.
His attitude towards the club and the volunteers alike has been nothing short of remarkable, and needs to be celebrated.
Brodie has grown throughout his time at Dimboola and we look forward to many good games ahead.
