Dimboola hold on to third
Dimboola have held on to third place on the ladder with a strong win away from home against Nhill.
The Ant Toet-led side came out firing at Davis Park on Saturday with a 21-9 opening quarter before a 13-10 second term helped Dimboola extend the lead by the big break to 15 goals.
Dimboola maintained its goal-a-minute scoring rate with 16 goals in the third quarter to hold a 45-29 lead heading into the final quarter.
But Nhill weren't done for and threw everything they had at their opposition in the last quarter, outscoring the Roos 14-6.
In the end, though, the margin was too great for them to master.
Maddison Mara and Stephanie Glover were in brilliant form for Dimboola while co-captain Courtney Hillier and Emma Schilling led the way for Nhill.
This Saturday, Dimboola hosts bottom-placed Mnyip Murtoa at Dimboola Recreation Reserve.
The Burras are yet to claim a win this season but have been close with a draw against Nhill in round three and a one-goal loss to the Thunder in round two.
While Nicole Polycarpou is leading the way for Dimboola in goal scoring this season, with 105 goals from 131 attempts, Tamira Cullinan is impressive in the circle for Minyip Murtoa and has scored 90 goals from 135 shots.
These two, along with Claudia Griffiths, Jenna Schneider and Johanna Griffiths for the Burras, and Eloise Wills, Maddison Marra and Olivia Beugelaar for the Roos, are players to keep an eye on this Saturday.
