Dimboola enjoy win over Minyip Murtoa
Dimboola enjoyed a victory over Minyip Murtoa in A grade netball for the Wimmera Football Netball League on Saturday.
The side is now just a couple of points behind the Demons on the ladder, and in third, while Minyip Murtoa remains looking for its win of the season.
The Roos held a handy lead after the first quarter, 17-8, before extending the gap to 20 goals at half-time, 34-14.
Adding 13 goals to their score in the quarter after the big break, while the Burras added nine, Dimboola were up by 24 goals heading into the final term, 47-23.
Both sides kept the scorers busy in the last quarter, Dimboola finding the ring 12 times and Minyip Murtoa seven to finish 59-30.
Going with the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", Dimboola backed their shooters in Olivia Beugelaar (23 goals) and Nicole Polycarpou (36) all game, while scoring was shared between co-captain Jessica Newell (three), Jenna Schneider (10), and Tamira Cullinan (17) for Minyip Murtoa.
Better players for the losing side were co-captain Lauren Dodgshun (goal keeper) and Lucy Brand (predominantly wing defence), while Beugelaar (goal attack) and Billie Barber (predominantly wing attack) were best on court for the victors.
