HORSHAM Demons will be looking at securing their first win of the Wimmera Football League season when they host the Warrack Eagles at the Horsham City Oval tomorrow when round six kicks off.
Both teams are winless and the Demons will be looking to learn from what happened last week.
Coach Tyler Blake mentioned the things they worked on during the week.
“We have talked about how we react to shifts in momentum,” Blake said.
“What we will take from the weekend and learn from is not to give up, not to panic and not get comfortable in the lead, should we get the lead.
“We need to finish things off and play four quarters. The Eagles will come out firing and it is up to us to play our best. We also can’t treat the Eagles lightly. They will be fired up,” he concluded.
The Demons have no injury worries and will keep a similar team, while the Eagles will also be at full strength after coming off a bye last weekend.
In the match of the round the Southern Mallee Giants will look to bounce back when they face the unbeaten Ararat at Beulah Memorial Park.
With Ararat coming off a bye the first quarter will be crucial and the Giants will look to come out hard.
In other matches, another tight contest is expected with Stawell and Nhill to face off at Central Park. Both teams have secured a win so it’s a must win for both sides.
At the Minyip Recreation Reserve, Minyip-Murtoa will look to bounce back after last weekend’s loss to the Saints when they host Dimboola in a match that could decide their top five fate.
A loss to the Roos and a Nhill victory will see the Tigers leapfrog the Burras in fifth place. The Roos were good in their clash against the Giants last weekend and will look to bring the same style of play against the Burras on the wide expanses of the Minyip ground.
