Dark Matter Centre to hold public lecture on research in underground lab
SUPL research update to be held at Stawell Town Hall.

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter will be in Stawell on Wednesday, February 19 to update the public on the research happening in the Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory.
Director of the Dark Matter Centre, Elisabetta Barberio will deliver a free lecter at the Stawell Entertainment Centre from 6pm to 7pm.
In addition to speaking about the latest news out of SUPL, Professor Barberio will provide an update on the search for dark matter, and present the next steps for the SABRE South experiment.
The SABRE South experiment mirrors an experiment in the Northern Hemisphere and will determine whether readings taken by Italian researchers are a result of seasonal fluctuations, or dark matter.
The talk will coincide with a meeting for our International Scientific Advisory Committee in Stawell.
Guests from around the world will be discussing and planning the Centre's dark matter research.
SUPL recently received a state government grant to build a science outreach centre to promote Stawell as a hub for science research and innovation.
