Danny's birthday bash
Well-known and loved local identity, Danny Johnson recently celebrated his 80th birthday with family and friends.

The Rusty Nail Restaurant, which had many fond memories for those who attended, was the venue for the celebration and was attended by Danny’s six children and many of his friends.
Speeches by Danny’s children (Remedy, Kristy, Lincoln, Brooke, Amy and Charles) described him as an exceptional father with a constant optimistic view of all events in life; good and bad.
During his speech, which was full of humour (and often lacked political correctness), Danny spoke fondly of his love for his family, and for the town of Warracknabeal and its people, where he has spent all of his life, interspersed by some more recent travels.
He also explained the origin of his sometimes nickname- ‘Nana’.
Danny has led an active life in Warracknabeal with a variety of jobs ranging from town milkman, electrician, demolition contractor, nurseryman and second-hand dealer.
He has also had active involvement in the town.
Danny has been a shire councillor, president of Apex and Rotary clubs, and president of the Arts Council, as well as supporting his children by participation in basketball and football clubs.
For many years he was a well recognised feature of the Easter ‘Y Fest’, annually compering the Street Parade in Scott Street.
His second-hand shops (which he often combined with the demolition business,) have been a popular and well-known feature of the town for many years.
Danny’s son, Lincoln, has returned home to help him in this pursuit along with the second-hand business.
His other son Charles is well known for supporting the town for many years with his ‘Johno & Jonno' business.
A lovely meal was provided and a wonderful birthday cake, (described as the ‘Leaning Tower of Pisa’) was cut by Danny during the evening.
concluded the evening with some popular numbers.
A wonderful evening was had by all who attended to help Danny celebrate his 80th birthday which he said in his own words "Can’t possibly be right".
However, time stops for no-one!
Happy Birthday from the Warracknabeal Community Danny!
