The Rotary Club of Warracknabeal held yet another highly successful Curry Night fundraiser recently at the Neighbourhood House.
Noel and Laura Maslamoney from the Dadswells Bridge Motel and Restaurant again provided a wide range of delicious curries for almost 90 guests.
Despite deliberately over-catering to enable the additional takeaway option, the popularity of the food was such that almost all of the treats were consumed on the premises.
The evening was designed to raise funds for the Warracknabeal Special Development School and to assist an up and coming young cricketer to travel interstate as a member of Victorian Country Cricket representative side.
Warracknabeal Special Development School principal Peter Clayton provided an outline of the fun learning activities involving students improvising on tricycles.
St Mary’s Cricket Club president Frosty Gunn outlined the extraordinary achievements of Chad Hartnett, well above his age.
Chad won the club senior and competition bowling averages and was selected in the State representative side.
Both received approximately $1,000 to assist their endeavours.
The Neighbourhood House team provided a magnificent setup and donated so many of their facilities to the benefit of the occasion - many thanks go out to Karen Fuller and her team.
Noel Maslamoney will be conducting a curry cooking class at the Warracknabeal Neighbourhood House this Sunday afternoon from 3pm to 5pm.
Bookings are essential. RSVP May 18. Cost $30pp.
