HORSHAM Cricket Association’s day one of the final round of competition saw all matches washed out on Saturday.
With around eight millimetres of rain falling throughout the morning and afternoon, all matches were cancelled which will see the final round completed tomorrow with one day matches to be played.
All interest will be on the A Grade minor premiership where West Wimmera Warriors and Bullants will decide top billing in their respective matches against Rup-Minyip and Homers.
Just 2.48 percent separates the two teams after the Bullants made its move over the past two rounds, closing the gap with its outright win over Rup-Minyip in round 13.
Association president Travis Hair said the competition throughout all grades has been very competitive this season with most teams in positions to play finals.
“It’s been a good season in regards to the competition for top four places. You look through all grades and the battle for finals is on.”
“A Grade is set, while B Grade will come down to the final round with five teams in contention. In C Grade, eight of the 10 teams will battle for finals spots so its been a really competitive season,” he said.
In B Grade, all eyes will be on Blackheath-Dimboola tomorrow when they host Bullants for their chance to play finals.
The Bulls trail fourth-placed Laharum by two points with Laharum set for a huge battle with ladder leader Lubeck-Murtoa.
Horsham Saints and Rup-Minyip will be favoured to maintain their second and third positions when they do battle against Jung Tigers and Colts respectively.
In C Grade, a huge focus will be on the final round when six teams contest vital matches.
Ladder leader Homers and second-placed Quantong will contest finals but the battle for third and fourth place will be on in earnest when West Wimmera Warriors, Horsham Saints, Laharum, Natimuk, Lubeck-Murtoa and Blackheath-Dimboola battle for finals spots.
The Warriors will be favoured in a match against bottom-placed Colts, while matches between Natimuk and Horsham Saints, Lubeck-Murtoa and Laharum and Blackheath-Dimboola and Quantong will sort out the last finals place.
