Creative juices flow free for kids
Horsham Regional Art Gallery became the place to get creative juices flowing these school holidays with three two-hour workshops each week.
Body mapping and "trashion fashion" design were among the different activities children aged seven to 17 could participate in.
Horsham Regional Art Gallery's public art and public programs officer Larissa Riddell said they had great attendances.
"We had a wide range of activities this time around, it's been really great," she said.
"We're trying to build the arts program for both kids and adults."
Emily Friedrichsen showed children that clothing can be made out of household and used materials.
Garbage bags, cardboard, bubble wrap and newspaper were some of the materials used to create clothing items such as jackets, tops and skirts.
Children had 10 minutes to draw their design before creating their trashion design using only tape and scissors to connect materials together.
"It's exciting to see what they've come up with," Ms Riddell said.
A body mapping workshop run by Tarni Eldridge encouraged children to get in touch with their bodies, understanding what it feels.
Using paint, coloured texters and magazine cut-outs, they decorated their body map.
"It's getting them to think about what parts of their bodies represent to them," Ms Eldridge said.
