Cranage, Zumsteins and Glenisla Crossing residents told to monitor conditions
The latest update was given at 9.45am on Tuesday, January 28.
A watch and act message is being issued for Cranage, Zumsteins and Glenisla Crossing at 9.45am on Tuesday, January 28.
There is a bushfire in the Grampians National Park in the Wallaby Rocks Road area near Zumsteins that is not yet under control.
The bushfire is travelling from in a northerly direction towards Wartook.
The situation can change at any time. You must monitor conditions and be ready to act.
This comes after Residents of Cranage and Zumsteins were told to leave just after 8pm on Monday, January 27.
Initial 'stay informed' warnings were issued for the area at 7:20pm as the CFA crews fought the blazes in areas near Asses Ears Road, Taylors Track and Launders Track in the north of the national park.
What you should do:
Monitor changes to the situation. Increased wind speed, change in wind direction, smoke or poor visibility can indicate the situation is changing.
Enact your fire survival plan.
If you do not have a plan, decide what you will do if the situation changes.
If you have time, check your neighbours to see if they are monitoring conditions.
Protect yourself and your family.
Leave if the situation changes or you feel unsafe.
Remember to:
Take your pets, medications, mobile phone and charger.
Many people have died trying to leave at the last minute during fires.
Travel to the home of family or friends that are away from the warning area or Horsham.
