Council's Business Bingo initiative to boost local commerce across December
HRCC launches Business Bingo to encourage local shopping.

Horsham Rural City Council is giving shoppers extra reason to shop locally this December with the launch of its new initiative, Business Bingo.
With Business Bingo, the council aims to both boost local commerce and add a fun and engaging element to holiday shopping.
HRCC's co-ordinator of investment and business development, Annie Mintern, said the initiative came from feedback from the business community, encouraging the council to run an initiative that wasn't limited to a certain number of businesses.
"The Roaming Advent Calendar can only accept 24 businesses. So we brainstormed some ideas and came up with Business Bingo," she said.
By participating in Business Bingo, residents can support local businesses, enjoy a festive shopping experience, and have a chance to win vouchers to use at local stores.
"We've been to a few of the participating businesses since it started and they have all had a good response to customers wanting to participate and have handed out plenty of cards," said Ms Mintern.
"We received interest from 25 businesses to participate and, if successful we would love to run the initiative again during the quieter months in Winter."
People who spend at least $10 at participating businesses can get a stamp to mark that business off on their card.
To complete a bingo card, shoppers need to shop at one business from each column, but unlike normal bingo, they do not have to be in a line.
Completed cards must be handed into the Wimmera Business Centre by Friday, December 20 at 1pm to go into the draw.
The winners will be drawn at the Santa Day Races on Sunday, December 22.
