Council celebrates inclusion day

Hindmarsh Shire Council marked International Day of People with a Disability with a community celebration at the Dimboola Bowling Club on February 11.

About 60 people attended the event, which gave residents a welcoming and inclusive space to connect, enjoy activities and spend time together.

Guests enjoyed music, a barbecue, games and lawn bowls during the day.

Although temperatures were high, attendees stayed comfortable and shared lunch inside the club’s fully air-conditioned rooms.

Hindmarsh Shire Council thanked the Dimboola Bowling Club for hosting the celebration and supporting the occasion.

Council also thanked the participants and volunteers who helped make the event a success.

The event highlighted the importance of promoting awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability, while celebrating diversity across the community.
