Council awards grants to 25 community events
Twenty-five events in Horsham Rural City will share in $69,960 from council's coffers in the coming financial year.

Councillors voted on Monday to approve the distribution of all but 4 per cent of the $73,000 set aside as community events funding in the 2024-25 budget.
The remaining $3040 has been retained as a contingency.
The successful applicants were chosen from 29 submissions lodged in May.
In total, $131,317 was sought by event organisers.
The funding is part of an overall allocation of $422,579 for donations and grants for community development and events, youth and quick response.
The recipients are: Wimmera Filipino Australian Club $3100; Horsham Rockers $3500; Combined Probus Club of Horsham $500; Wimmera Committee Against Family Violence $2000; The Mother's Day Classic $1000; Natimuk & District Gymnastics Club $5000; Natimuk Agricultural & Pastoral Society $3000; Beyond Community Inclusion $900; Horsham Motor Sports Club $5000; Gariwerd Artists $800; Arapiles Cycling Event Committee $3000; Dooen Public Hall Committee of Management $1500; North West Grampians Lions Club $4500; Old Skool Hotrod & Custom Club $4000; Wimmera Music Eisteddfod $4500; Taylors Lake Hall $1000; Kannamaroo Festival $8000; Natimuk Farmers Market Plus $660; Wimmera Pride Project $3500; Horsham & District Orchid Society $1000; Horsham Agricultural Society $3000; Wimmera Rockers Danceworld $2500; Horsham Spring Garden Festival $5000; Art is...
