Community urged to dig deeper for city festival
Organisers of the Kannamaroo Festival are calling for a little community spirit to add a bit of extra sparkle to the event this year.
Although the festival will be jam-packed with activities, a Go Fund Me campaign has been organised to assist with the event.
"Since 1980, Kannamaroo Festival has offered free annual fun, with fireworks also a highlight," festival chair Di Bell said.
"However, like many events now, it has become challenging to offer a full festival with limited funds from grants."
Organisers have stressed that the festival will go ahead regardless, despite added costs, with just as many activities and entertainment as previously, if not more.
The festival will be held at Maydale Reserve and Horsham Showgrounds from Friday November 22 until Sunday November 24.
Ms Bell said the committee acknowledged that the cost of living was rising, and would appreciate any donations, with even $10 from a family making a difference.
