The Combine side resumes their innings at 4/37 and faces an uphill battle to surpass the Colts’ first innings total of 150.
Putting extra pressure on SGW is the potential final ramifications the match may have, as they are currently level with fourth-placed Donald Jeffcott on 46 points.
At Donald Recreation Reserve, the hosts will attempt to defend their first innings score of 238 against Laharum.
A win for Donald Jeffcott would likely see them remain in the top four, while a victory for Laharum would likely guarantee them a spot in the semifinals.
Similar to Laharum, a first-innings win for first-placed West Wimmera will all but secure their two-day finals spot.
The Warriors resume day two at 3/58, and with Nathan Alexander and Jeremy Weeks currently at the crease, should be able to reach 86 and claim first-innings points against Brim KSH.
At City Oval, St Mary’s will recommence their second innings at 3/51 and require 68 more runs to force the Bullants to bat again.
The Warracknabeal side has already made a better start than in their first innings, but a refreshed Bullants’ bowling unit will be hard to go against as they aim for an outright win.
At Murtoa Recreation Reserve, skipper Cameron Newell and Josh Hedt will resume the Mudlark’s run chase at 2/49 after they bowled the Tigers out for 136.
In B grade, Swifts-Great Western will look to solidify its spot at the top of the ladder as they resume their innings at 3/61 in response to Horsham Saints’ 121.
In other B grade games, Donald Jeffcott resumes play at 1/15 as they attempt to chase down the Bullants’ score of 223; the Colts are well positioned at 0/95 to reach St Mary’s first innings score of 115; Brim KSH will aim to defend their first innings total of 205 against the Tigers; and the Rup-Minyip Panthers have the chance to go for maximum points as they resume day two at 6/142 after comfortably exceeding West Wimmera’s total of 53.
Round 14 of the C grade one day competition takes place on Saturday, and will include a matchup between likely finals teams Laharum and Halls Gap at Cameron Oval; Homers will host the Tigers at Sunnyside Recreation Reserve; Quantong will host ladder leaders Swift-Great Western at Quantong Recreation Reserve; the Horsham Saints travel to Dimboola Recreation Reserve to go against Blackheath Dimboola; and Natimuk hosts Lubeck Murtoa at Natimuk Showgrounds.
