At last week’s dinner meeting, the Rotary Club of Warracknabeal presented Christine Gunn with the Paul Harris Fellow for her outstanding service and commitment to Rotary and to the community.
Ms Gunn was inducted into Rotary in 2009, and has been a committed and highly-valued member of the club with a broad involvement across a wide rage of roles and responsibilities, including serving as club president from 2014-2015, and treasurer from 2017-2023.
She has been an impeccable treasurer for the past seven years and will continue in the role into the coming Rotary year, making her the longest continuously serving treasurer in the club’s history.
In the community, Ms Gunn has been a keen sportsperson with involvement and roles of responsibility in basketball, swimming and the Warracknabeal Golf Bowls Club.
She was also an inaugural member of the Warracknabeal Murray to Moyne cycling team, and continued for 12 years in support of the local health service.
Ms Gunn volunteers widely, even when not asked, and this is often done quietly and behind the scenes at many community events, especially in relation to financial and catering matters.
Ms Gunn’s strength of character informs all that she does.
She speaks up for what she believes in, is respectful of Rotary and its ideals, and follows-through meticulously on any role she undertakes.
