More than 30 past and present players assembled at Jeparit Golf Club last month to celebrate the club's 115th anniversary, reminiscing about past glories and catching up with old friends as part of the Reconnect weekend.
Forty visitors awoke to the scent of Jeparit Town Advisory Committee's welcome breakfast on the Friday before talented artist Gayle Newcombe opened her nearby gallery and studio for exploration.
Guests then headed over to the golf club for a barbecue featuring guest of honour Nita Natt, who received a warm round of applause.
Ms Natt mentioned that she took up golf as she was walking around with her husband anyway and eventually got down to playing off 10.
Greenskeeper Raymond Schulze positioned the club's newest piece of machinery close to the clubhouse for viewing, and club secretary Paul Bell said following the golf club celebrations, John Pumpa gave a slideshow on an inflatable screen at Jeparit Primary School, highlighting images of Jeparit in the 1960s, which were gifted to him by the local camera club.
"The 40-strong crowd was amazed to see the images, with some receiving a shock when they discovered Jeparit used to have 40 shops and over 700 residents," Mr Bell said.
From there, some went for a visit to Jodi Hutson's property - home to 850 irises - while others took a ride on the horse-and-carriage, taking in local sights including the Wimmera Mallee Pioneer Museum and the Sir Robert Menzies Spire.
History buffs enjoyed talks from historian and genealogist Craig Proctor about pioneer women.
Jeparit Memorial Hall hosted the Saturday night cabaret, and more than 100 patrons enjoyed singing along to Timewarp's hits while also giving the dance floor a good workout.
The weekend culminated with the 125th Jeparit A&P show on Sunday.
