HORSHAM Saints goal shooter Jorja Clode has shot an amazing 89 goals during the Saints victory over Minyip-Murtoa in their A Grade clash on Saturday.

The teenage goal shooter dominated the match where the undefeated Saints continued their run at the top of the premiership table in a high scoring 96-43 goal victory.

Clode’s haul is an expected record in Wimmera A Grade netball as historians search through record books to find anything to rival the extraordinary feat.

The Saints controlled the contest to half time when they set up a 44-20 goal lead before putting their foot down in the second half, finishing with an impressive 30 goals in the final term as they tried to close in on three figures.

Clode was a clear best on court as she teamed well with Ashlee Grace who won many possessions through the centre of the court.

For the Burras, Lucy Brand and Jessica Newell teamed well as Newell and Maddison Morgan finished with 10 and 28 goals respectively.

Dimboola enjoyed a strong outing when they hosted Southern Mallee Giants, producing a big second half when they came from six goals down at the halfway mark of the match to dominate the third term and grab a three-goal lead at the last break.

The Roos shot 16 goals to seven during the decisive third quarter and was able to hold out all challenges from the Giants in the final term and maintain a six goal advantage on the scoreboard and run out 55-49 goal victors.

Under the goal ring, the Roos were able to maintain a strong scoring presence as defender Holly Ross teamed well with midcourt team-mates to find avenues to goal where shooters Billie Barber and Olivia Jorgensen teamed well under the ring.

Jorgensen topped all scorers for the day to finish with 49 goals in a strong showing, while for the Giants shooter Steph Thomson maintained a strong presence to finish with 27 goals, teaming well with Taya Horman who provided strong run through the midcourt.

Stawell maintained their top three position when they proved too strong for Grampians rival Ararat at North Park.

The Warriors claimed a 45-37 goal victory with Lisa Fleming and Ebony Summers producing strong bookend games with Fleming playing a strong defensive game and Summers finishing off play with a game-high 27 goals.

Ararat’s Laney McLoughlan was strong under the ring and finished with a bag of 24 goals, teaming well with Jess Taylor.

Under the roof at St Brigid’s College, second-placed Horsham claimed a strong 52-35 goal win over Nhill which saw the Tigers slip to fifth place on the ladder.

The Demons dominated from the opening whistle with defenders Ebonie Salter and Marnie Lehmann teaming well to limit the Tigers shooters and set up scoring chances where shooters Imogen Worthy, Georgia Batson and Georgie Carberry shared the spoils with 20, 19 and 13 goals respectively.

Tomorrow’s round 15 will see vital games set down for play as looks to maintain its place in the top five when they host third-placed Stawell, while Ararat, looking to enter the top five, will host Southern Mallee Giants.

Dimboola will look to continue their good form when they host Minyip-Murtoa, while Horsham will start a short favourite when they venture to Anzac Park against the Warrack Eagles.
