Families from across the region descended on Horsham's Sawyer Park on Sunday to celebrate their mums and raise priceless funds to fight breast cancer.
Many of the 250-plus participants in the Mother's Day Classic - a morning fun run and walk from Horsham Soundshell - took part with their mums or came from neighbouring towns to visit their mums after the event.
Committee member Jackie Exell said the number of registrations exceeded expectations.
“The numbers were amazing," Ms Exell said. "We had 250 participants who registered online and some people registered on the day.
“Online registrations were more than double last year's, which shows how our Classic has grown and found its feet after Covid.
“There were also some participants who don’t live here but came back to visit their mums in Horsham so it was good to showcase our event to new faces.”
Ms Exell said people stayed around after the event for fun and refreshments.
“There was a breakfast, barbecue, coffee van and face painting for the kids, which they enjoyed,” she said.
“We had different gifts for different categories of participants – 10 or 12 winners, mostly from Horsham.
“I’m so thankful to the community for supporting the cause."
