Well, what a weekend for Wimmera sport!

Fresh from a stellar HDFNL grand final, the Wimmera Football Netball League hosted a fitting final day of action at Dimboola's Recreation Reserve.

In the senior football, a capacity crowd witnessed a grand final for the ages when the Ararat Rats made it back-to-back flags for the red and the white.

In the A Grade netball, Horsham broke an eight year drought after it defeated Horsham Saints.

Ararat's other grand final team was in the under 14s football, although the young rats fared less favourably, falling to the Horsham Demons in a lop-sided affair.

Stawell grabbed its only premiership of the day in the B grade netball; it was a fairytale finish for the side, having finished fourth in the regular season.

In the under 17s footy, the Horsham Demons got the better of their cross-town rivals, Horsham Saints.

But, the Saints' got revenge against the Demons as the two clubs ran it back in the reserves.

The Saints also got the upperhand in the netball, winning the 17&Under, 15&Under and 13&Under premierships.

Everyone knew the club's song by the end of the day as it won the C Grade and C Reserve premierships.

This weekend, there will be respite for some, with no local sport; however, two familiar faces will be playing in the big dance: the AFL Grand Final.

Horsham boys Jake Lloyd and Jarrod Berry will vie for the biggest premiership of them all when Sydney take on Brisbane at the MCG.
