Horsham’s top public servant is to keep his job for another four years.
Horsham Rural City Council this week voted to extend the employment contract of CEO Sunil Bhalla until 2027.
Since joining HRCC in April 2018, Mr Bhalla has led council’s response to the Covid pandemic, implemented a staff restructure, established council’s involvement in the Rural Councils Corporate Collaboration Project, and developed and overseen the adoption of its Council Plan 2021-2025 and 20-year Community Vision.
“We greatly appreciate the expertise and knowledge that Sunil has brought to this organisation and look forward to continuing to work collaboratively and supportively as we prepare for the future ahead,” Mayor Robyn Gulline said.
Mr Bhalla said he was “honoured and grateful for the opportunity” to remain with HRCC.
