Cent afternoon a success for CWA
Dimboola's Country Women's Association (CWA) cent afternoon has been another success, a nice turnout of women participating.
Held at Dimboola RSL, the event featured a wide variety of household items, jams, baked goods, plants and more being auctioned off.
The system operated on a winner's name being drawn from a tub in front of each item.
For $2, each participant received 20 tickets to place in the tubs of the items they hoped to 'win'.
Dimboola CWA president Mandy Myers and treasurer Shirl King conducted the fast-paced afternoon, drawing names from the containers.
Deb Nelson has a successful afternoon, collecting a wide range of items.
"There were a few things I wanted," Ms Nelson said.
"I had leftover tickets so I just put them in any container."
A raffle was conducted after the main auctions, with six prizes on offer including chocolates, wine and a box of plants.
An enjoyable afternoon tea was provided by Dimboola CWA members.
"We really appreciate you all coming out and showing your support," Ms Myers said.
The afternoon raised $310 for the community.
