The atmosphere at Rainbow’s Pink Market last Saturday was warm, friendly and welcoming according to both stallholders and visitors.
Organiser Les Graetz said it was a fantastic day and that he received many requests for the next event before the day was over.
“Most stall holders reported good sales and the vast majority have said that they are looking forward to the next market,” he said.
“They loved the atmosphere and the welcome they receive from the Rainbow community.
“One of our stallholders is moving to Queensland, but said she would still return for our next market.”
Fifty stalls were set up at The Oasis, offering clothing, books, food, plants, indoor and outdoor art, crafts and handiwork, jewellery, face-painting and homeware.
“Stall holders came from many locations including Rainbow, Hopetoun, Warracknabeal, Nhill, Horsham, Rupanyup, Dooen, Eaglehawk, Werribee and Lexton, “ Mr Graetz said.
The market was run in association with Rainbow P-12 College students, who Mr Graetz said did a great job before and after the market, and were fantastic on the day.
“[They are] a credit to the school and our community,” he said.
“Holly, Nekeisha, Phoebe and Lilly learned a lot about how a market works and we enjoyed working with them.
“On the day the other P-12 students who helped were fantastic- every time we, or a stall holder, asked for help, they jumped up and did the task.“
With such a amazing turnout of visitors from all over the Wimmera Mallee region, and beyond to Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, and even Germany, there is much excitement already about the next market which organisers Les and Mary Graetz, and Ben Gosling, say will be in mid- to late-October.
“It is a lot of work, putting together something like this,” Mr Graetz said.
“We need a bit of a rest before we go again, but we are thinking October.”
