Bushfire flares up: Chetwynd, Kadnook, Powers Creek residents told to leave
'Watch and Act' message was issued at 1pm on Monday, December 16.
Update (2.45pm): Emergency services have downgraded the threat to residents of Chetwynd, Kadnook and Powers Creek.
The wind change has assisted CFA crews in bringing the fire under control; however, residents are asked to monitor their surroundings.
Smoke is visible from nearby homes and roads and will reduce visibility in some areas.

Earlier (2.15pm): Emergency services have told residents of Chetwynd, Kadnook and Powers Creek to enact their fire safety plan as crews battle a blaze.
More than 20 vehicles are responding to the fire.
A 'Watch and Act' message was issued just before 1pm on Monday, December 16, after a bushfire reignited on Casterton-Edenhope Road just north of Chetwynd.
The Kadnook-Chetwynd bushfire first ignited on November 18.
Authorities said the blaze was travelling in a south-easterly direction and could impact private land.
"Spot fires and embers are starting fires up to 500 meters ahead of the main fire," the warning said.
Emergency services expect a wind change, which could redirect the bushfire towards Connewirricoo.
