The Burras took out a thriller by two goals over the Eagles who are still chasing their first win as competition reached the halfway point of the season.
The clash highlighted the round which also saw ladder leader Horsham Saints maintain their unbeaten record with a big win over Nhill, while Horsham dominated its clash with Southern Mallee Giants and Dimboola won a hard fought clash over Ararat.
An even start saw the Eagles take a one goal lead, 12-11, into quarter time and extended its lead to three at half time when they added 15 goals to 13.
But the Burras were able to hit back in the third quarter and dominate scoring and turn its half time deficit into a five-goal lead at three quarter time when they registered 15 goals to seven.
A thrilling final stanza saw the Eagles challenge hard to put its first win on the board, but the Burras were able to outlast the home team to take out a 50-48 goal victory with Jessica Newell and Isabella Griffiths leading the charge for the Burras.
For the Eagles, teenagers Jordan Heller and Amber O’Connor helped bookend the team with O’Connor shooting a game-high 39 goals, while Heller worked hard in defence to quell the Burras shooters.
At Ararat, Dimboola produced a vital win to its top five placing when they claimed a 50-41 goal victory on the back of some consistent shooting from goalies Olivia Jorgensen, Billie Barber and Ashlee Morrish who finished with 23, 17 and 10 goals respectively.
Horsham Saints extended a lead through each quarter against the Tigers to claim a commanding 60-28 goal victory, while Horsham produced a similar outing with a dominant 55-21 goal win over the Giants.
This weekend sees the start of the second half of the season with Warrack Eagles hosting Horsham Saints at Brim, Nhill hosting Dimboola in a battle for fourth place, while Horsham will host Minyip-Murtoa.
