With both teams out of contention for finals, the clash between the Burras and Demons was more about pride than anything else.

And it was Minyip Murtoa that claimed the points, but it was by less than a couple of goals in the end.

The Horsham side got off to a brilliant start, up 38 to seven at the end of the first quarter.

But Minyip Murtoa replied in the second, and they were up by 14 points at half-time.

The Burras got the difference out to 26 points heading into the final quarter, but the Demons were able to close the gap a bit, with final scores 16.7 (103) to 14.8 (92).

Kade Petering and Luke Fisher led the way in performance terms for the Burras while Tanner Smith booted six majors.

And for the losing side, Rhys Barber and Tyler Blake were in form, as was Matthew Long, who also found the big sticks six times.

With the last match for both sides done and dusted, their players can now hang up their boots for the season, with the Demons finishing ninth, with a record of 1-15, and Minyip Murtoa finishing sixth, with a record of 7-9.
