More than 100 students from nine Wimmera colleges have lined up to make the most of VCE Creative Arts Day in Horsham.
The SPARK arts education program provided the event free of charge at the Horsham Regional Art Gallery last Friday for the Year 11 and 12 cohorts.
Those doing VCE units 1-4 in art, media studies, theatre studies, and visual communication and design were divided into three groups to participate in seminars, workshops and gallery tours.
"I'm really glad I came as I've learned a lot and I've asked a lot of questions, which I'm really appreciative for," Horsham College Year 11 drama and theatre student Jace Both said.
SPARK arts education officer Vicki Thomas said incredibly talented artists and educators shared their various experiences with the local teenagers.
“The event provides our regional students with an opportunity to meet with and listen to creative arts specialists to further enhance their VCE studies," Ms Thomas said.
"We had two universities' representatives involved, from Monash and ACU, plus Drama Victoria and a local educator as well.
“With opportunities such as this often limited to metropolitan students, this event will help to bridge the gap.”
