Club’s treasurer and director of Science Challenge, Tom Gallagher, said the funds will significantly reduce participation costs for the students and the teacher across the region.

“We received a contribution of $2000 from the Murra Warra Farm, and this financial contribution will go towards reducing direct costs to every participating school,” he said.

“Approximately 500 students and up to 20 to 30 teachers will be positively impacted by it.

“For the Science Challenge, it helps reduce the stress of trying to source more money.”

Mr Gallagher said the sponsorship for the event gives the club hope for its sustainability in the future.

“It gives us great hope that we can actually continually, through sponsorship, make this event more possible every year for the foreseeable future.”

“Any sponsor who is willing to put their hand up and contribute to such a worthwhile event should be supported throughout the community in whatever form possible.”

He also thanked community sponsors for making the event possible and for their support in enhancing opportunities for youth.

Murra Warra Wind Farm has allocated more than $103,000 in community grants to not-for-profit and community groups across the Horsham, Yarriambiack and Hindmarsh Shires this year.

There were 17 different projects funded through this year’s program, spanning across five categories: Education and Training, Sustainable Environment, Culture, Diversity and Arts, Sport and Recreation and Social, Health and Well-being.
