Bombers overcome strong Kee start
Noradjuha Quantong have continued their undefeated start to the season, defeating Kalkee 135-33 on Saturday in round seven of the Horsham District Football Netball League.
Bolstered by the spirit of their motor neurone disease fundraising day, Kalkee took a 19-15 lead after the first quarter before Noradjuha Quantong took a 25-19 halftime lead.
The Bombers put on a dominant second half to run away with the game, finishing 20.15 135 to 5.4 33.
Kalkee kept to coach Andy Devereaux’s plan of establishing a good start but were unable to hold on as the game went on.
Devereaux and Matt Nield were two of Kalkee’s best, while Dylan Shelley and James Gregg were Noradjuha Quantong’s best on ground.
The Bombers’ Brock Orval kicked a game-high eight goals to lift his season tally to 27, currently second in the league.
The win keeps Noradjuha Quantong on top of the league ladder, while Kalkee remain in tenth place.
