Beulah Medical Supplies to close doors

Beulah Medical Supplies will close its doors at the end of June, but Warracknabeal Pharmacy retail manager Georgina Powell said that it does not mean the town will be without a medical supply service.

“It’s with great regret that it’s being closed,” Ms Powell said.

“Unfortunately it’s not viable anymore.”

She said that with changing demographics and population decline in Beulah, the business can no longer justify operating the Phillips Street shop.

Beulah Medical Supplies is a depot that does not have a pharmacist on site, with Warracknabeal Pharmacy delivering prescriptions and other medicines.

“We’re not just shutting shop and saying, ‘Goodbye Beulah’,” Ms Powell said.

She said that the business was looking for an alternative way to provide Beulah residents with their prescriptions and other medicine, and that will be shared once finalised.

“We’re certainly not leaving people high and dry.”

All prescriptions and accounts with Beulah Medical Supplies will be transferred to Warracknabeal Pharmacy.

“If anyone has any questions, don’t hesitate to call,” Ms Powell said.

Arrangements have been made for prescriptions and Webster Packs to be delivered on a weekly basis.
