Beulah hotspot for long weekend
Hundreds of locals and visitors spent their long weekend at the two-day Beulah Wide Open Spaces Festival.
Hundreds of locals and visitors spent their long weekend at the two-day Beulah Wide Open Spaces Festival.
Organiser Barb Moore said the weekend - held at the Beulah Recreation Reserve on March 9 and 10 - was a great success.
"We had roughly 250 people come," Ms Moore said.
"We would've had more if it wasn't so hot.
"We had plenty of shade and we put misters in the trees to keep everyone cool."
Ms Moore said they provided water play for children and many were swimming in the creek.
The popular remote-controlled trucks returned and even interstate drivers came along to show off their trucks.
Ms Moore said it was the biggest meet they had ever had.
A Creekside Market showcasing local crafts, art and handmade products was held on March 9 and a fishing competition took place on March 10.
"I tried to get a wide variety of markets," Ms Moore said.
She said they had 77 people registered for the fishing competition this year.
"It was a good turnout," Ms Moore said.
Live music from Paul Costa and his band Rhys Crimmin, the Fairy Wrens and local talent kept everyone entertained throughout the weekend, alongside face painting, games and pony rides for the kids on Sunday during the family day.
"We had great music, nice food and ice-cream - it was fantastic," Ms Moore said.
"We're very happy with it - everyone loved it."
