Become a caravan park friend
To capture the passion, interest and enthusiasm of the Warracknabeal community, Yarriambiack Shire Council wants to establish a Friends of the Warracknabeal Caravan Park volunteer committee.
The aim of the committee is to share ideas, undertake working bees at the park and drive the community's vision.
Yarriambiack Shire Council CEO Tammy Smith acknowledged Mick Gunn’s recent letter to the editor published in the Warracknabeal Herald.
“I recognise the works at the park have been prolonged and delayed, and we have a prime asset on the banks of our beautiful creek which we need to capitalise on," Ms Smith said.
“I can confirm we are still undertaking works at the park, with the old amenities block to be demolished, along with the remaining dilapidated ensuite.
"We also have plans to replant shrubs, paint the kerbing and propagate the grass areas."
Mayor Kylie Zanker said councillors were currently seeking community feedback to shape the council plan 2025–29.
"This would be a perfect opportunity to share your thoughts, especially regarding the caravan park with councillors," Cr Zanker said.
“I strongly encourage Warracknabeal residents to come and meet with our councillors in Warracknabeal on Monday March 24, at The Local 165 from 1pm to 2pm."
Yarriambiack Shire Council has launched its council plan survey, which can be accessed online via council's website or facebook page.
Alternatively, a hard copy is available from the shire library, the shire office or the community engagement van.
Community members who are willing to participate in working bees and who have a strategic vision and view in relation to the caravan park are encouraged to complete an expression of interest form at www.yarriambiack.vic.gov.au/Engage-With-Us/Share-Your-Feedback
Expression of interests will be welcomed until Friday February 21.
