Ballot Draw for Horsham was watched by four candidates and media

Four eager candidates were present on Wednesday September 18 at the Election Office to watch the draw for the Horsham Rural City Council elections in October 2024.

Candidates names were selected by computer and immediately appeared on the large screen for viewers to witness.

Green Park Ward

Kalimna and Wyn Wyn Wards were uncontested so no ballot was necessary

Rebecca Sluggett and Brian Klowss are successful candidates respectively.

The Local Government council elections for 2024 is by postal vote and with voting closing on October 26.

Voting slips can be posted to the address provided or handed int o the election office in your council area.

Victorian Councils entered caretaker mode on September 17 and will remain until October 26 at 5pm.

HRCC is ine of 39 ciuncils in Victoria to have changes announced to their ward structure following reviews conducted by the Victorian Government's Electoral Representation Advisory Panels.

HRCC was originally a single ward council but has been divided into seven wards prior to the October election.

The 2024 election is the first election for HRCC since the ward structure was announced.
