Badminton announces bright future

On Monday August 28, the Rainbow Senior Badminton Club held their wind-up and presentation dinner at Hayden’s Café.
We had a beautiful roast with veggies, plus a choice of sweets - all self-serve - so thank you to Sharon and Peter.
We then held our annual general meeting.
All office bearers were voted back in office, and we were happy to announce that the 2024 season of badminton will go ahead as we have been offered a venue.
Thank you to Hall Committee president Rob Koning for offering us the use of the Mecca.

Selection committee: All the no.1 players, plus president and secretary.
Craig and Jill presented the trophies to all the teams, and Jill Eckermann was presented a trophy for winning the most sets for the season - she won 32 out of 36 sets.
Craig then presented Jill with a lovely bouquet of natives.
Thank you to everyone who played this season, I hope to see you all again next season.
JUNIORS WRAP-UP THE SEASON
Our 2023 Junior Badminton wind-up and presentation dinner was held on Thursday August 31 at the school hall, after our 15 players had their usual four doubles sets and a set of singles.
At 6pm, the families arrived with all their food for a shared meal.
Thank you to all the parents for getting the food out and for helping to clean up at the end.
Thanks to Rowena Keller for your help during the season, and a huge thanks to all the Junior Badminton players for playing.

There were five girls and 15 boys who played this year.
We played for 13 weeks and we had only two girls who played all 13 matches, - well done to Emma Saul and Lane Zadow.
The winner of the Rainbow Junior Badminton Girls - Most Doubles Sets won was Felicity Keller, and runner-up was Emma Saul.
