Award-winning artist to hold Sumi-E painting workshops in Horsham, Natimuk
Emi K Kinran will showcase the Japanese ink painting art form.
Award winning artist Emi K Kinran is holding a Sumi-E painting workshop in Natimuk's Goat Gallery this August.
The workshop is giving artists and creatives from the Wimmera the chance to learn the art form of Japanese ink painting.
Ms Kinran learned painting and calligraphy as a child in Japan and learned the art of Sumi-E in Melbourne and Tokyo.
She is also highly accomplished in the Japanese arts of Ikebana and tea ceremony and is a Certified advanced lecturer of International Sumi-E Association.
Her art works have been exhibited in galleries in France, The United Kingdom, Estonia, Chile, China, Singapore, Japan, and Australia.
Currently living in Horsham, Ms Kinran is offering Sumi-E workshops for Wimmera residents where they will be guided through the process of creating beautiful works of art with ink and brush on paper.
"All the materials you need are provided, and you will take home at least one complete work suitable for display." Ms Kinran said.
"You will receive individual attention and support while you learn the basic techniques and strokes of Sumi-E."
The Goat Gallery in Natimuk is hosting a workshop on Saturday, August 24.
The cost is $40 and includes all materials and morning tea.
It is recommended that you wear comfortable dark-coloured clothes.
