Ararat await Horsham at home
Ararat hosts Horsham in the fifth round of the Wimmera Football Netball League on Saturday, with both sides fresh off wins last week.
The home side this week got the four points over Warrack last week by 30 points, while the Demons had a big win over Dimboola.
While Ararat is currently fourth on the ladder, with a record of 2-1, Horsham is sixth, at 2-2.
Ararat footy director Corey Taylor said the side is expecting another good hit out on Saturday.
"Horsham had a good win on the weekend, so we expect them to challenge us," he admitted.
Although the likes of Baydn Cosgriff, Brody Griffin, Harry Ganley, James Jennings and Tom Mills have been in early form for Ararat, Taylor said they expect all 21 players to lead the way for them, week in, week out.
"We have a big emphasis on playing a team brand of footy and not relying on individuals," added Taylor.
While the side wasn't finalised when Taylor chatted to Wimmera Mallee News, he said it was expected that more experienced personnel would bolster their team this week.
"We are tracking really well with injuries and expect to get some regular senior players back this weekend who haven't played much footy throughout the early stages of the season," confirmed Taylor.
The Demons also have their fair share of experience and talent, though, with Billy Carberry, Hudson Hair, Jordy Schmidt, Lachlan Hobbs and Tyler Blake all polling early votes on Play HQ, along with Benjamin Janetzki, Oakley Farr and Zac Martin.
According to Taylor, like many matches, the game will be decided in the middle of the park.
The game between Ararat and Horsham will be held at Alexandra Oval, kicking off from 2.20pm.
