April market a must to attend

Rainbow will once again be hosting a Twilight Market at The Oasis, with around 40 stalls currently planning to be there from 3pm to 7pm on April 1, 2023.
This year’s market is being organised in conjunction with four students from the Rainbow P-12 College, who recently attended the School for Student Leadership in Marlo.
Nekeisha Bastin, Phoebe Bigham, Holly Doxey and Lilly Williams were inspired to organise a Community Learning Project to support and promote their community.
“As a group we came up with the idea to raise awareness for breast cancer as there have been many cases of breast cancer in our area and it’s a cause close to our hearts,” said Ms Bastin.
“We have helped to plan a market and are working towards raising funds through the College, as well as searching for any grants and funds, for live music for everyone to enjoy.”
Market organiser Les Graetz said the success of the markets in previous years has set a high benchmark for quality, but one that is definitely achievable.
“Fourteen of this year’s stallholders have been to our three previous markets, which all had about 30 stalls,” Mr Graetz said.
“We are constantly seeking new stall holders to improve the market experience for those attending, and with the addition of 10 or more stallholders who have not attended the previous markets in Rainbow, this market will have about forty stalls.
Mr Graetz said only a couple of stall holders who attended the November 2022 market were unable to attend this time, but assured patrons there was still a wide range of goods on their way.
“Dave Walters (Dave’s Cave) from Dooen and Dee Vaughan (Peaceful Things) from Donald came to the last market and said they can’t wait to come back to Rainbow,” Mr Graetz said.
“Chantelle Fisher and Susan Sugden are two locals who will hold stalls for the first time, while Tammy and Evan and Jill have had a stall at all three previous markets.
“It is great to have Lilly, Nekeisha, Phoebe and Holly involved in the market - their input will add a lot to the success of the market.”
Food and drinks will be available, plus activities for children including Gemma and Andy’s beautiful face painting and tattoos.
With a multitude of arts and crafts, jewellery, plants, organic vegetables, clothing, baked goods, beauty products, candles and melts, garden metalwork, small goods, leatherwork and many other items on offer, there is sure to be something for everyone.
