WAG secretary Sharlene McGinniss said they would be putting a call out to town groups to help and host sites during the festival.

"We rely heavily on community groups to help out," she said.

"We're looking for vocalists and musicians to take part."

Faye Johns has been appointed musical director and Warracknabeal and District Band, led by Jason Wright, will again take part in the event.

"And of course we will be writing a letter to Santa and Mrs Claus asking them to make an appearance," Ms McGinniss said.

Last year's festival was combined with Carols by Candlelight, attracting a huge crowd.

The event featured activities including a petting zoo, Balloonatic Bruce, a booth for colouring and Beau from Level Up Gaming, as well as performances by the choir led by Ms Johns, Voices of the Wimmera, Accidental High Notes, Wheatlands Church, Reinhard and Sofia Habel.

Ms McGinniss told a recent festival meeting they would soon be applying for sponsorship and funding grants.

Expressions of interest for food and drink sites are now welcome.
