Anglers win big

Charee Chaplin of Murtoa, catching a 47.5cm Yellow Belly, has won the 2023 Horsham Fishing Competition.
She was awarded the CFMOTO C Force 450 in the category for the overall longest senior native fish.
This year, more than 1200 anglers took part in the Horsham Fishing Competition, and almost 700 fish were caught.
The competition’s second and third place finishers were Tyler McCrae with a 46 centimetre Yellow Belly and Kelvin McGill with a 45 cm Catfish.
Ben Thorton won the Senior Random Draw competition and received a $3000 Helloworld Travel Ticket, Sophie Kenny came in second and received a Triple Ziggy Barbecue, and John Faure came in third and received a Sunbeam Barista Max Espresso Machine for his home.
Amelia Beer went home with her brand new CF Moto Junior after earning first positionin the Junior Longest Native Fish category for catching a 42cm Yellow Belly.
Lyla Launer, who got a 41-cm catfish, and Darcy Rivertt, who caught a 40-cm catfish, took second and third place, respectively, in the junior group.
Bathi Hahne, Liam Donoghue and Logan Clark were also among the winners in the Junior Random Draw category.
Carlee Coad, Esmir Zepic, Rezo Hrnjicic, Kevin Culling and David Sulja also won several prizes in the senior random catch a fish draw.
